Salbuurun Festival will be held on August 3 on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul lake in Bokonbaevo village, Ton district. The co-organizer of the event, director of the travel agency Travel Experts, Sergei Glukhoverov, announced at a press conference.
According to him, the goal of the festival is to popularize Kyrgyz national games, traditions and customs.
«The festival has existed for many years, but previously it was held as a competition. Salbuurun is a triathlon, when hunting birds, taigans and archers participate. This year we decided to expand the format, to make it in the form of a festival, so that, in addition to competitions and contests, guests from far abroad and other residents could come. We want to combine this with national folklore, handicrafts, various shows, so that it becomes a big holiday, where people will learn about Kyrgyz culture. We will support and develop this,» Sergei Glukhoverov told.
He added that the festival will introduce foreign and Kyrgyz tour operators to the potential of the republic.
«Craftsmen, folklore groups, and handicraftsmen are invited. We will photograph them all and shoot videos, and then write good posts. We will directly indicate that this family can, for example, feed you in Jeti-Oguz, accommodate you, and cook boorsoks with tourists. In another family, they will be able to make a komuz from wood, listen to musical instruments; the festival will be like a business card, foreign guests will be able to learn about Kyrgyzstan and get all the contacts and addresses. That is, through one festival, we popularize national sports and reveal the possibilities of Kyrgyzstan for tourists,» Sergei Glukhoverov said.
