The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan has issued a weather alert.
According to the ministry, mudflows are possible in the mountainous and foothill regions of the republic on July 30-31 due to rising air temperatures and local heavy rains.
The water level in the rivers is expected to rise.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations calls on people to follow safety rules when there is a threat of flooding:
- Clean ditches, strengthen banks and do not throw garbage into irrigation ditches;
- Ensure that residential buildings have gutters to drain rainwater;
- Pay special attention to avoiding places at risk of flooding when building houses and growing crops;
- Immediately go to a safe place during a flood;
- Turn off electricity, water and gas in your home if possible.
