A sharp change in climate and heavy, prolonged rains caused mudflows in Batken region. The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to the ministry, specialists from the Department of Emergency Monitoring and Forecasting are conducting research in the area where the natural disaster occurred.
Residential houses were flooded in Airport and Orukzar sections of Ak-Tatyr village due to the close proximity of houses, planting of trees on the banks of drainage canals and construction works.
In this regard, engineering and technical works are being carried out to widen the banks of the drainage canals and cut down trees that create obstacles.
