China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway: Shavkat Mirziyoyev approves document

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved a resolution that enacted the intergovernmental agreement signed on June 6 in Beijing on the construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. The Ministry of Justice of the republic reported.

According to the resolution, a cooperation agreement on the joint implementation of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project was approved between the government of China, the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the government of Uzbekistan.

The President chose the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan as the competent authority responsible for the implementation of this international treaty.

It was reported that, in accordance with the agreement, the planned railway will run along the route Kashgar — Torugart — Makmal — Jalal-Abad — Andijan. Its annual cargo volume is expected to reach 15 million tons, and the time of delivery of goods to end consumers will be reduced by seven days.

On June 27, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov signed the Law «On the ratification of the agreement between the government of the People’s Republic of China, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on cooperation in joint promotion of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, signed on June 6, 2024 in Beijing.»
