Akylbek Japarov visits Nookat district affected by mudflows

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov, as part of a working trip to Osh region, got acquainted with the progress of liquidation of the consequences of the emergency situation in Nookat district. His press service reported.

«Akylbek Japarov got acquainted with the scale of damage caused by the natural disaster and flew over the households and territories of Nookat district affected by the mudflows,» the statement says.

Akylbek Japarov held a meeting of the operational headquarters. He gave specific instructions to the management of the region and departments on elimination of the consequences of the emergency situation and provision of assistance to the victims.

«The state will provide all the necessary resources to quickly and effectively eliminate the consequences of the emergency. We will provide full support to the victims and will make every effort to restore the damaged infrastructure,» the head of the Cabinet noted.

Mudflows occurred in Nookat district of Osh region on June 28, leading to the death of people. Due to heavy rains, mudflows flooded dozens of courtyards and damaged bridges, roads and power lines. An emergency situation has been declared in the area. At the moment, nine deaths have been officially announced.
