Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev discussed with the World Bank’s senior staff the extension and additional financing of the health care program. The ministry’s press center reported.
According to it, the meetings were held during an international dialogue on sustainable financing of the fight against non-communicable diseases and mental health support in Washington. They ended with the adoption of decisions on further implementation and extension of «Primary Health Care Quality Improvement Program» funded by the International Development Association (IDA), the German Development Bank (KfW) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in the Kyrgyz Republic.
As part of the implementation of the «Primary Health Care Quality Improvement Program», $8 million will be received in the second quarter of 2024 and until the end of the program another $22 million, which will be directed to the priority areas of primary health care in the country.
There is also discussion about the need to sign an additional grant funding with a total of $11.45 million for technical assistance and the purchase of items critical to primary care health care organizations.
«Primary Health Care Quality Improvement Program» has been implemented since 2020. National electronic platforms have been created for collecting and reporting on indicators of the quality of medical care of healthcare organizations and advanced training at the place of work. Laboratory equipment was purchased for more than 53 healthcare organizations. Simulation equipment was purchased for the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training.
