The Ministry of Education and Science announced the results of a survey to compile the National Ranking of Higher Education Institutions in Kyrgyzstan.
Such a survey has been conducted in Kyrgyzstan for the first time.
It is noted that universities were assessed according to 6 criteria:
- Academic reputation;
- Employer assessment;
- Quality of teaching;
- Science Citation Index;
- Foreign teachers ratio;
- Foreign students ratio.
The top 7 of the ranking includes six universities with a special status — KSMA, KSTU, KNAU, KNU, KRSU, Osh State University.
The top 10 of the ranking:
1) Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after Isa Akhunbaev — 461.56 points.
2) International University Ala-Too — 453.58 points.
3) Kyrgyz State Technical University named after Ishak Razzakov — 436.74 points.
4) Osh State University — 415.84 points.
5) Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University — 412.74 points.
6) Kyrgyz National University named after Zhusup Balasagyn — 404.36 points.
7) Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Scriabin — 403.54 points.
8) Kyrgyz State University named after Ishenaly Arabaev — 352.92 points.
9) Kyrgyz Economic University named after Musa Ryskulbekov — 324.3 points.
10) Bishkek State University named after Kusein Karasaev — 318.12 points.
A total of 27 universities participated in the study. The scores of universities on each criterion can be found on the website https://rating.kg/rating/about-overall-rating .
Work on compiling the ranking began in October 2023. Since January 2024, at least 1,001 teachers and 507 employers took part in EdNet agency survey.
