Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev took part in the regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.
Jeenbek Kulubaev noted in his speech that the SCO is entering a new stage of development against a difficult global and regional background and needs a long-term strategy to use the Organization’s potential in countering emerging challenges and threats. In this regard, the Kyrgyz side attached great importance to the adoption of the SCO Development Strategy until 2035.
In order to strengthen cooperation and deepen contacts with interested countries and international organizations, the Kyrgyz side stressed the importance of adopting a Roadmap for strengthening cooperation between SCO member states and SCO dialogue partners.
Following the event, a number of decisions of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers on topical and promising issues of interaction within the Organization were signed.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the SCO member states were also received by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
