By decision of the Pervomaisky Court of Bishkek, akyn Askat Zhetigen was released under travel restrictions. The press service of the court reported.
«The request of the investigator of the Criminal Investigation Department of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic for Bishkek to apply a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to Askat Zhetigen was refused,» the statement says.
A preventive measure was applied to the accused in the form of travel ban until the end of the investigation.
Before the court hearing, the activist told media representatives that he did not consider the words he said to be a crime. He also added that he politely tried to convey his thoughts several times.
The SCNS officers detained akyn Askat Zhetigen for criticizing the authorities. Akyn was brought from Naryn to Bishkek and placed in a temporary detention center for 48 hours.
