EU allocates €3 million to Kyrgyzstan for digital transformation

The European Union transferred to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic €3 million (295 million soms) as the budget support in the field of digital transformation. The EU Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

The grant funds were allocated to promote the work of the Innovation Center of Digital Competencies under the High Technology Park, to promote Sanarip Aimak/Digital Aimak system in all regions of the country to provide electronic services to the population, to enhance cyber security of the country, to ensure personal data protection by the specially created State Agency for Personal Data Protection under the Cabinet of Ministers.

«The budget support in this area will be directed to software development and database maintenance in line ministries and to the promotion of the digital economy throughout the country. In addition, the budget support is accompanied by training programs for public authorities with the assistance of European Union member states to promote e-governance, transparency and accountability,» the statement says.
