Psychologists recommend that children spend no more than three hours a day on their phones. Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Lira Samykbaeva stated live on Birinchi Radio.
According to her, it is necessary to limit the time spend by a child on the Internet.
«Now we see that children are using their phones a lot more. It seems to me that this situation arises because some parents do not know how to use parental control applications. They are very convenient and make it easy to control children,» said the Deputy Minister.
She noted that the Parental Control application sets the time a child can spend on the Internet and limits access to specific sites or applications.
«For example, you can set three hours and that’s it. Plus, inside the three hours you can divide the time between some applications. That is, YouTube — no more than 20 minutes, TikTok — no more than 10 minutes, and so on. The application also shows what children watched the most,» Lira Samykbaeva said.
According to the Ministry of Education, a plan is now being developed jointly with the Ministry of Culture on how to teach people to use Parental Control.
«We have contacted our initiative groups, who are ready to make videos on this topic. There you need to link the children’s email to the parents’ email. This is the biggest difficulty, because not everyone uses email,» the Deputy Minister of Education and Science concluded.
