Russia starts preparations for construction of solar plant in Issyk-Kul region

The Russian company Unigreen Energy has started preparatory work for the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 300 MW in Issyk-Kul region. It was announced in Bishkek at the meeting of the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov with its representatives.

«During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the project of construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 300 MW in Issyk-Kul region. Representatives of the company informed the head of the Cabinet of Ministers about the work done and noted that at present the coordination of documents with authorized bodies is being completed and preparatory work has begun at the site of the solar power plant,» the statement says.

According to the official, projects related to the development of renewable energy sources are a priority, in this regard, «maximum efforts will be made to solve the issues hindering implementation of the project».

He instructed to include this project in the plan of priority in 2024.

Recall, the solar power plant will be built in the area of Toru-Aigyr village. The cost of the project is about $270-300 million.
