The President of Kyrgyzstan congratulated the Kyrgyzstanis on the Day of Manas Epic. The press service of the head of state reported.
Sadyr Japarov recalled that the Manas epic is the national pride of the Kyrgyzstanis, a great spiritual heritage, a masterpiece of world folk poetry, a guidebook sacredly revered by the people for many centuries. The Kyrgyz people are the owner, custodian and successor of the Manas epic.
For us, the great epic is very important as a genuine work of folk art, as the history of the people, as the source of national ideology.

«If our scarlet flag, coat of arms and anthem are symbols of the state, then the epic Manas is a symbol of national identity. The greatness and unity of the original Kyrgyz people, carried through centuries, are described in the epic Manas. And the origins of the national ideology of multi-ethnic Kyrgyzstan derive from this great unity,» Sadyr Japarov said.
The head of state emphasized that today the world is changing rapidly, and peoples are once again turning to their history and the past and boldly starting the search for spiritual basis and moral values. The epic Manas intertwines the history and destiny of the entire Kyrgyz people, its values and traditions, its everyday life and culture, and deeply reflects its original aspirations, which it has cherished for centuries.
«The popular expression, «Start with Manas, put everything aside!» reflects our original ideology, our core, our great national spirit — it is our Manas!» as accurately as possible! That is why on April 22, 2022 I signed the Decree «On additional measures for comprehensive study and popularization of the trilogy of the epic Manas (epics Manas, Semetei, Seitek) — the invaluable spiritual heritage of the Kyrgyz people. Immediately after that, Manas state institution and the National Academy named after Chingiz Aitmatov was transformed into Manas National Academy. I firmly believe that these steps will contribute to more promising and meaningful comprehensive studies of the Manas epic,» the president said.
He wished that the sacred epic would serve as an ideological pivot calling for a bright future!
