Rallies of sellers: Akylbek Japarov holds urgent meeting

A meeting of responsible government bodies with representatives and owners of trade structures, large markets, trade union organizations and trade workers took place today, chaired by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

Akylbek Japarov said that due to a lack of information work, society has developed a distorted understanding of changes in the tax regime.

«The most important thing that we must understand is that for the vast majority of our small retail traders, by decision of the country’s leadership, not only licenses have been cancelled, but a number of concessions have also been provided. Ordinary families that run small grocery stores and engage in petty trade at markets, whose turnover is less than 8 million soms, are completely exempt from paying any taxes,» he said at the meeting.

According to the Chairman of the Cabinet, certain forces are trying to take advantage of the lack of information and are trying to «rock» the traders. At the same time, «the absolute majority of the people support the policy of strengthening the state and establishing order.»

«The era of the bazaar economy and initial accumulation of capital is passing. The state now works for the people, and does not serve the interests of the wealthy and «narrow circle of people» who corrupted society with impunity. The government has a strong mandate of trust from the people, who know that all government revenues go towards building new infrastructure and improving the lives of citizens, and not into someone’s personal pocket. We fight poverty and lift people out of poverty. It cannot be that «the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.» We will protect and help all honest people who work to feed their families. We are on the same side,» Akylbek Japarov said.

To free sellers from unnecessary burden, he instructed to simplify the processing of electronic invoices and consignment notes as much as possible within two weeks.

Regarding the introduction of cash registers, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers instructed to speed up the opening of commercial accounts, which will be integrated with tax structures. He also said that at the next meeting it would be decided to extend the capital amnesty law to the entire population of the republic, including those who were unable to formalize their tax payments in previous years, for example, for the purchase and sale of cars, real estate, or conducting economic activities.

Following the meeting, instructions were also given to the relevant bodies to organize and strengthen information and explanatory work.
