Negotiations between head of Kyrgyzstan and PM of Japan take place in Tokyo

The President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, as part of his official visit to Japan, held talks with the Prime Minister of the country in Tokyo.

The state and prospects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan, including in Japan + Central Asia format, were discussed.

Fumio Kishida stressed that the Kyrgyz Republic is a friendly partner of Japan and indicated his readiness to intensify partnership with the republic in a number of areas. He added that the Japanese government is ready to expand mutually beneficial cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the trade, economic and investment spheres.

Sadyr Japarov noted that thanks to Japan’s support, specific projects and programs have been implemented that have made a significant contribution to strengthening the social and economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic. According to him, the new political document being signed — a joint statement of friendship and comprehensive partnership in a new era between Kyrgyzstan and Japan — marks the beginning of a new era, a new page in the history of friendship and relations between the two states.

The head of state invited the Prime Minister of Japan to visit Kyrgyzstan at a time convenient for him.

In order to increase the indicators of trade and economic turnover, it was proposed to consider the creation of a joint intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. In addition, the parties agreed to work out the signing of an agreement on mutual protection of investments.
