Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan build trade and logistics complex

A joint project on creation of an industrial trade and logistics complex located near Karasu and Ak-Tilek checkpoints (the border of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan) is being implemented. The head of Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan, Yerbol Karashukeyev, told in an interview with journalists.

According to him, it is assumed that this project will allow, firstly, to start joint processing of food products; secondly, it will promote the cluster of light industry; thirdly, it will increase the potential of trade turnover of the two countries.

A land plot with a total area of 36 hectares has been specially allocated for its implementation. It is also planned to allocate additional 100 hectares within Karasu checkpoint.

«In general, based on the results of economic forums held this year between the two countries, 27 strategic agreements and memorandums worth $590 million in the chemical industry, agriculture, food industry have been signed,» Yerbol Karashukeyev reminded.
