Despite the worsening weather conditions, employees of the Diving Service Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic continue to clean Issyk-Kul lake from garbage. The press service of the ministry reported.
Over the past week, divers have cleaned the shore of the lake in Oi-Tal and Zharkynbaev villages, as well as the bay in Tyup district.
During the cleaning activity, which began on March 12 and ended on November 1, about 22,456 kilograms of various garbage and 143,000 meters of fishing nets, which caused damage to the flora and fauna of Issyk-Kul, were removed from the bottom.
Earlier, the head of state repeatedly called on Kyrgyzstanis to keep cleanliness in Issyk-Kul region. He signed the decrees «On National Cleanliness Day» and «On Urgent Measures to Preserve the Ecology of Issyk-Kul Lake.» An action plan has been developed for Taza Muras program.
