Policemen wanted for extortion of 400,000 soms detained

Three police officers who were wanted for extortion were detained. The press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.

These are employees of the Osh Department of Internal Affairs: two police captains and a major.

Earlier it was reported that four policemen, threatening with criminal prosecution for allegedly committing rape, extorted 400,000 soms from a resident of Osh region.

An intermediary was detained on September 25 while taking 100,000 soms, and then, the detective of the Osh Department of Internal Affairs, police major. The latter was placed in a pre-trial detention center. The rest hid from the investigation and were put on the wanted list.

The detainees were placed in the pre-trial detention center of the SCNS.
