Kyrgyz business concerned about continued arrests of entrepreneurs

JIA Business Association addressed the President of the country Sadyr Japarov because of the arrests of entrepreneurs.

JIA recalled that after assuming the duties of the President Sadyr Japarov signed two decrees «On protection of property and support of entrepreneurs and investors» and «On additional measures to protect business entities». Both documents are aimed at ensuring constitutional guarantees of property protection, their legal defense, stimulating sustainable economic growth, eliminating unjustified government interference in the economic activities of business entities and increasing investor confidence.

«The adopted normative acts gave an incentive to entrepreneurs and confidence in the protection of their rights, interests and property by the state. But today, in light of the detentions of entrepreneurs, feelings of concern and uncertainty are formed in the business environment. The continuation of such actions may lead to a decrease in business activity and an outflow of investment from the country. Calls to attract foreign and domestic investors to the country’s economy should be ensured by stable policies that support business,» the appeal says.

Business calls for public policy to be aimed at long-term and stable development of the economy by creating a stable development of the business environment, ensuring fair rules, property protection, support for entrepreneurship and measures to prevent corruption.

«We believe that such actions contribute to the sustainable development of the economy and society thanks to the voluntary tax payments of entrepreneurs,» JIA concluded.
