The Chief Architect of Bishkek, Urmat Karybaev, charged with abuse of office, was placed under house arrest. The Pervomaisky District Court reported.
The measure of restraint chosen against the official will be in effect for the duration of the investigation until December 4.
According to preliminary data, the head of Bishkekglavarkhitektura was detained as part of a criminal case regarding the illegal transfer of land. The damage in the case amounts to 8 million soms.
Urmat Karybaev was appointed to the position of Chief Architect of the capital in June 2022. Since 2009, he has been a member of the Union of Architects of the Kyrgyz Republic. He took courses and workshops in the USA, Singapore and Japan.
