Asian Development Bank to help Kyrgyzstan develop PPP system

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Center. The center reported.

It is expected that ADB will assist in the identification, preparation and implementation of public-private partnership projects in Kyrgyzstan. The Asian Development Bank’s support will be provided to both central and regional entities, including advice on strategic and regulatory issues related to PPP transactions, as well as optimization of commercial value in the context of the country’s economy and policies.

«We look forward to working with ADB to promote public-private sector interaction in the country and attract foreign investment, technology, and innovation,» Sanzhar Bolotov, Director of the PPP Center, said.

ADB’s advisory work will be implemented through the Market Development and Public-Private Partnership Department and supported through the Asia Pacific Project Preparation Facility, a multi-donor trust fund that provides technical support in preparing sustainable and inclusive PPP projects to fill infrastructure gaps in Asia and the Pacific.

«Mobilization of private sector funds for PPP development, such as in digital technologies, renewable energy sources, social and urban mobility in Kyrgyzstan, will contribute to economic growth, job growth, and improved quality of life for the country’s population,» Zheng Wu, ADB Country Director for the Kyrgyz Republic, said.
