According to the Supreme Court, the defendant was sentenced to eight years in prison.
Earlier, the Supreme Court reported that the victim Asel Nogoibaeva twice appealed to the police on the fact of rape. The first case was terminated due to reconciliation of the parties. In the second case, the Sokuluk District Court sentenced the accused, the victim’s former husband, to three years of probation.
The victim, disagreeing with the decision, appealed to the Chui Regional Court.
On September 20, 36-year-old Asel Nogoibaeva was admitted to the hospital with wounds. Her ex-husband Azamat Estebesov cut off her ears and nose and mutilated her body. The fact was registered under Article 130 «Causing grave harm to health» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. A criminal case has been initiated. The 39-year-old man was detained on the fact. The investigation continues.
