17 hectares of land in Issyk-Kul region allocated to investors from Azerbaijan

Member of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Dastan Bekeshev said on his Telegram channel that the Committee on Budget and Finance received a draft agreement with Azerbaijan on the construction of a five-star hotel on the shore of Issyk-Kul lake.

According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers allocates 17 hectares of land for this in Kara-Oi village, of which 12 hectares will be developed, 4 hectares are intended for a park and 1 hectare is allocated for a beach area accessible to all citizens.

At the same time, as Dastan Bekeshev clarified, the draft agreement states that the Cabinet of Ministers undertakes to provide the infrastructure and build a road to the resort, exempt the hotel from taxes for 10 years, provide land for 49 years with the right to extend use, and Azerbaijan undertakes to build a hotel within three years and employ 70 percent of workers from Kyrgyzstan.

«I wonder if there are local entrepreneurs who would agree to build resorts with such conditions?» the deputy asked.
