The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, as part of a working trip to Jalal-Abad region, took part in the opening of a new central avenue named after the poet, translator Tumonbay Baizakov in the city of Jalal-Abad. Press service of the head of state reported.
The president congratulated all those present on the upcoming holiday, the Independence Day of the country. He wished to preserve the strength of the state and independence, for which the ancestors fought for centuries and passed on to their descendants.
Sadyr Japarov told that, as part of the ongoing reforms, a special plan was approved in the country to turn the city of Jalal-Abad into the second economic center of Kyrgyzstan. Two billion soms were allocated for these purposes.
«I would like to stress that such funds are allocated for the development of large cities in our country for the first time. Settlements that do have the status of a city must be worthy of the title of a city. It is planned to carry out large-scale construction in the city, more than a dozen social and economic projects are being implemented. This street, on which we are now standing, has also been renovated at the expense of the aforementioned funds. Intensive repair of many internal roads of the city is underway. The financing project also includes the construction of a number of industrial enterprises and social facilities. I will not be mistaken if I say that this year was the year of construction in Jalal-Abad. All this is aimed at creating comfortable conditions for the residents of the city,» the head of state said.
The President also said that in the near future the master plan would be changed and the territory of the city of Jalal-Abad, whose population is growing every year, would be expanded.
«In this city, which is becoming a new development hub, in addition to the allocated 2 billion soms, various projects financed from the budget are being built. One of the largest projects to date is the transfer of a penitentiary institution, located in the very center of the city, out of its territory. In the future, it is also planned to move the Jalal-Abad airport to the suburbs and build a modern international airport. These efforts will primarily ensure the safety and comfort of the city’s residents. The named objects will be replaced by new buildings that will add beauty to our city,» Sadyr Japarov said.
The head of state shared one more piece of good news: the world-famous Barcelona football academy, the first in the Central Asian region, is opening in Jalal-Abad. This is one of the most important events in the history of Kyrgyz football. President Sadyr Japarov assured that in the coming years funds would be allocated for the development and support of other cities of the country in the same direction.
