Ammunition confiscated from resident of Osh city

Ammunition was confiscated from a 29-year-old resident of Osh region, who participated in the war in Syria. He was placed in a pre-trial detention center. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

The detainee is a supporter of an international terrorist organization.

It was found out that in 2017 he went to Turkey and then to Syria, where he participated in the armed conflict on the side of international terrorists. Upon returning from Syria to Turkey, he was detained and deported to his homeland. The man was convicted and was released from prison in 2021.

During a search of the detainee’s place of residence, two RGD-5 grenades, two unified fuses of a hand grenade, 5.45 mm cartridges, a camouflage kit, a shovel, knives, mobile phones, a USB drive and two CDs were seized. According to the conclusion of the examination, the seized ammunition is combat one.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 267 «Illegal circulation of weapons, ammunition» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The detainee was placed in a pretrial detention center in Osh. The investigation is ongoing.
