Suu-Bashy canal was put in operation after repairs in Kara-Bulak village, Batken region of Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the office of the Presidential Envoy to the region reported.
The canal was built in 1964. Due to its deterioration, the loss of water reached 50 percent.
To date, 2.5 out of 20 kilometers of the canal have been repaired. The estimated cost of the project was 14,600 million soms.
Repair of the canal will provide 550 hectares of land in the village with water.
