A regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held in Sochi in narrow format under the chairmanship of the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
Akylbek Japarov noted that «the Commonwealth of Independent States remains a successful platform for multidisciplinary cooperation between the CIS countries and confirms its relevance as a respectable association in the post-Soviet space.»
Further, the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government continued in a wide format, at which a number of important documents were signed aimed at further development of multilateral cooperation within the Commonwealth.
In particular, the Agreement on Free Trade in Services, Establishment, Activities and Investments was signed, the work on which lasted more than 10 years.
The second no less important document signed following the results of the meeting is the Agreement on Cooperation between the Commonwealth Member States in the Exchange of Radiation Monitoring Data.
A number of decisions were also adopted in the field of industrial cooperation, the cultural and humanitarian sector, as well as on financial and personnel issues.
As part of the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic in the CIS Council, a regulation on a sports contest among children with disabilities was also approved.
