Kyrgyzstan increases the number of its Consulate Generals in Russia. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev said at the round table «Migration and crime: interconnectedness of causes and conditions.»
According to him, two new consulates and seven offices will be opened. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will enhance the protection of the rights of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation.
The official noted an increase in the number of crimes committed by migrants in Russia. «Unfortunately, the number of crimes, in which our compatriots who are working in the Russian Federation, are involved is growing. According to statistics, crime rate increased 1.5 times in 2021-2022. At least 1,177 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are serving sentences under various articles of the Russian Criminal Code. They are mostly young people,» he added.
