Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev met with the Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Asia of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Anjali Kaur. Press service of the Cabinet reported.
The parties discussed the current state and promising areas of cooperation in the field of agriculture, creative economy, education, information technology, energy industry, including in the areas of renewable energy and climate change.
Bakyt Torobaev noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the development of a green economy in the country. He mentioned the country’s initiative to swap external debt for sustainable projects to protect the environment.
In turn, Anjali Kaur noted intensification of bilateral relations and expressed her readiness to support projects of mutual interest.
Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to continue developing contacts to step up cooperation.
