Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov met with EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Press service of the Cabinet reported.
The official told about the achievements of Kyrgyzstan in strengthening the public administration system and the financial and economic situation over the past two years.
«Kyrgyzstan is no longer that poor relative who walked with a hat in hand. Today you are cooperating with a state that is confident in its future and is dynamically developing. Our leadership not in words, but in deeds, implements a policy of good governance in the interests of the people, the example of this is the doubling of government revenues and the successful resolution of the dispute over Kumtor mine,» he said.
Edil Baisalov noted the main directions of development of the republic in the near future and the strategic projects implemented by the country’s leadership. For example, he mentioned the implementation of energy projects, the construction of a railway, and a human capital development program in the areas of education and health.
In turn, Odile Renaud-Basso expressed her readiness to cooperate in all areas of mutual interest.
At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of partnership in infrastructure projects and the development of alternative energy sources and green economy.
