Supporter of Adakhan Madumarov arrested for social media posts

A supporter of the deputy of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Adakhan Madumarov, the owner of Kuba Buba account on Facebook, was detained. Press center of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported.

As noted, he is charged with inciting ethnic, national, religious or inter-regional hatred.

It is specified that A. Kubanychbek, 49, was detained in Moskovsky district of Chui region as part of a criminal case under article 330 «Inciting racial, ethnic, national, religious or inter-regional hatred (discord)» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic«. He is a native of Batken region, the owner of Kuba Buba account on social media and is an active supporter of the leader of Butun Kyrgyzstan political party, deputy of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adakhan Madumarov.

«It was found out that the detainee was systematically publishing and distributing materials through social media that encourage citizens to commit violent and illegal acts. According to the conclusion of the forensic-linguistic examination, his statements contain signs of interethnic hatred, as well as hostile attitude on the grounds of national affiliation,» the statement says.

The suspect was placed in the pre-trial detention center of the SCNS.

The state committee urges citizens not to succumb to various kinds of anti-constitutional provocations and appeals distributed on social media aimed at inciting hatred and destabilizing the social and political situation in the country.
