The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan issued a weather alert.
According to the press service of the ministry, frosts from 0 to −2 degrees Celsius are expected in the agricultural districts of Chui and Talas regions, and up to −2 ... −4 degrees during the day and at night in Issyk-Kul and Naryn regions.
Unstable weather, rains, and snow in mountainous areas are expected on the territory of the republic from May 2 to May 6. In this regard, the ministry urges citizens not to graze cattle in the mountains and refrain from traveling. Avalanches, packed snow, and icy roads are expected on Chon-Ashuu and Sook Ashuu passes.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges car owners to keep a distance of 500 meters between vehicles, to have snow chains, a first aid kit, hot water with them, and not to go on long trips around Kyrgyzstan without an urgent need.
