Recep Tayyip Erdogan awards employees of Emergencies Ministry of Kyrgyzstan

President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented state awards to rescuers from Kyrgyzstan for their help during the earthquake. Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

The ceremony of presenting state awards to foreign search and rescue teams and diplomats, who provided significant assistance in rescue operations and disaster relief in the southeast of the Republic of Turkey, took place in the presidential palace in Ankara.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented Senior Lieutenant of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Temirlan Zhumamudunov with the state medal of the Republic of Turkey of a high rank «For courage and self-sacrifice in saving people» and also awarded the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey Ruslan Kazakbaev with a diploma.

The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Azhikeev and the First Deputy Minister Azamat Mambetov.

Kyrgyzstan’s rescuers removed 8 people from under the ruins, and found the bodies of 198 dead during search and rescue operations in the Turkish cities of Kahramanmaraş and Hatay.

In addition, Kyrgyzstan set up a mobile hospital to provide first aid to the victims, and also organized a yurt camp.
