Positive trends continue in the economy of Kyrgyzstan. Real GDP growth in January — March 2023 reached 4.6 percent. Growth of production in industry and the service sector continues to make the greatest contribution to the economic growth. The steady expansion of domestic demand continues.
Considering the current conditions for the development of the external and internal economic environment, the National Bank decided to keep the size of the discount rate. In case of any risks, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic does not exclude the possibility of making additional adjustments to the ongoing monetary policy.
«The National Bank is constantly monitoring the evolving situation and, if necessary, will use additional tools and take appropriate measures to achieve the goal of ensuring price stability in the medium term,» the National Bank noted.
The next scheduled meeting of the Board of the National Bank on the issue of the discount rate will be held on May 29, 2023.
