Saudi Fund for Development allocates $100 million to Kyrgyzstan

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received the Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Fund for Development Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad. Press service of the head of state reported.

According to it, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for joint projects and further development of joint cooperation.

Sadyr Japarov stressed that agreements were signed on the implementation of two important projects for Kyrgyzstan: My Home housing program and the reconstruction of Suusamyr — Talas — Taraz road. The Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with ensuring the timely and high-quality implementation of these projects, since they are under his personal control.

The President stressed that the Fund’s funds in the amount of $100 million under the signed agreement will be directed to the construction of affordable housing for the population.

Until 2026, it is planned to provide housing for more than 50,000 families as part of My Home 2021-2026 program.

The head of state outlined the prospects for the implementation of projects in the field of construction and reconstruction of hydropower plants in the country and suggested considering the possibility of the Fund’s participation in the implementation of hydropower projects.

The President awarded Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad with a Certificate of Merit for the significant contribution of the Saudi Fund for Development to the social and economic development of the country and for its support in the implementation of important projects.
