Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to China Aktilek Musayeva met with Secretary of the XUAR Party Committee, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Ma Xingrui. Press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.
A thorough discussion took place on topical issues on the bilateral agenda, including cooperation in the field of security, cooperation in the field of transport, trade, cultural and humanitarian exchange. The parties separately emphasized the importance of increasing the throughput capacity of Irkeshtam and Torugart checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border, as well as providing a green corridor for the export of agricultural products from the Kyrgyz Republic to the PRC.
They discussed issues of promotion of practical partnership between Naryn FEZ and Kashgar complex bonded zone.
In addition, the parties discussed interaction between the postal services of the two countries in order to create the necessary conditions for the development of cross-border e-commerce.
Within the framework of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the importance of popularizing Manas epic, as well as the participation of representatives of the two states in cultural events held in Kyrgyzstan and the XUAR of the PRC, was noted. Particular attention was paid to the development of tourism between the Kyrgyz Republic and China.
«As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the allocation by the people’s government of the XUAR of a scholarship quota to students from Kyrgyzstan to study at the universities of the XUAR, on increase in the number of Urumqi — Bishkek — Urumqi flights and organization of visits by the relevant departments of the parties to establish and promote mutually beneficial practical cooperation,» the statement says.
