Public debt of Kyrgyzstan grows by $52,96 million for month

As a result of January 2023, the public debt of Kyrgyzstan (external + internal) amounted to $5,631.07 billion (485,116.41 billion soms). The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan provided such data.

Including $4,520.67 billion (389,455.89 billion soms) is external debt, and $1,110.39 billion (95,660.52 billion soms) is internal one.

Over the month, the level of public debt grew by $52,96 million. At the same time, external debt increased by $41.21 million and the domestic debt — by $11.74 million.

As a result of January 2023, the public debt amounted to 52.33 percent of GDP.

Over a half of the external debt of the republic is multilateral loans — $2,273.5 billion. The country owes other $2,193.16 billion (48.5 percent of external debt) within the framework of bilateral concessional loans. At least 39.5 percent is the debt to the Export-Import Bank of China, which at the end of January 2023 amounted to $1,785.7 billion.
