Kanybek Imanaliev appointed Acting Minister of Education

The President of Kyrgyzstan signed a decree, according to which the ex-deputy of the Parliament Kanybek Imanaliev was appointed an Acting Minister of Education and Science. Press service of the head of state reported.

The candidacy of Kanybek Imanaliev will be submitted to the Parliament for agreement on the appointment to the post of Minister of Education and Science. Sadyr Japarov also signed a decree dismissing Ulanbek Mambetakunov from the post of Minister of Education and Science. He was appointed in October 2022.

Kanybek Imanaliev headed the press service of the President Askar Akayev from 1996 to 1999. From 2000 to 2005, he was a deputy of the second, third, fifth and sixth convocations. From 2008 to 2010 Kanybek Imanaliev was a Deputy Rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University for International Relations. In January 2021, he ran for presidency. He is a former journalist, author of many books published in different languages.
