5th Consultative meeting of heads of Central Asia to be held in Dushanbe

The next Consultative meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia will be held in Dushanbe on September 14-16. On the same days, the capital of Tajikistan will host the constituent meeting of the Council of the Heads of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea. The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan reported.

The 4th Consultative meeting of the presidents of the countries of the region took place in June 2022 in Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan). At the meeting, the participants discussed issues of regional cooperation, as well as trade, economic and cultural and humanitarian partnerships. Tajikistan and Turkmenistan did not sign the key document of the summit — the Treaty of friendship agreement, good neighborliness and cooperation.

The 1st Consultative meeting of the heads of the Central Asian state was held in Nur-Sultan (2018), 2nd — in Tashkent (2019). In 2020, it was planned to hold the summit in Kyrgyzstan, but because of the pandemic of coronavirus it was postponed for a year, and Turkmenistan received its neighbors in August 2021.
