Ex-deputy of Parliament Ravshan Dzheenbekov, accused of attempt to organize mass riots in order to seize power, was remanded in custody. Lawyer Zamir Zhooshev told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the court hearing was held without the participation of the accused himself — he was hospitalized the day before.
«The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek remanded Ravshan Dzheenbekov in custody until April 20. According to the Criminal Procedure Code, this is allowed, if the investigator provides a certificate of hospitalization. My client is in the hospital under escort,» said Zamir Zhooshev.
The Committee for protection of Kempir-Abad reservoir was created on October 22. It includes activists, politicians and MPs.
