Cameras with facial recognition function will be installed in all districts of Bishkek. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
«The administration of Pervomaisky district has begun installing cameras in public places. Work began in other districts of the capital. Ensuring the safety of Kyrgyzstanis from criminal encroachments, terrorist threats, increasing the security of places of mass stay, objects of various degrees of importance are the main goals of using outdoor video surveillance cameras,» the statement says.
The cameras installed with the help of state administrations will be connected to the single centralized system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs within three months.
A total of 2,177 surveillance cameras have been installed in Kyrgyzstan. Of these, 519 are with facial recognition function, connected to the Operational Control Center of the Public Security Service. In 2022 alone, 3,431 crimes and incidents were detected with their help.
