At least 52 cases of sexual violence against children were registered in Kyrgyzstan in 2022. Deputy Prosecutor General Umutkan Konkubaeva announced at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on constitutional legislation, state structure, judicial, legal issues and regulations.
According to her, 52 criminal cases were initiated in 2018 on the facts of sexual violence against children, in 2019 — 53, in 2020 — 17, in 2021 — 49, in 2022 — 52.
«Investigation within three criminal cases was suspended as the person, who committed the violence, was not identified. 34 cases were brought to court. The investigation in the rest of the cases continues,» Umutkan Konkubaeva said.
The committee considers a bill by MP Ulan Bakasov on the introduction of surgical castration of pedophiles.
