Business disconnected from electricity supply for exceeding permitted capacity

Power companies conduct raids on compliance with the installed permitted capacity. Press service of the National Energy Holding reported.

It is noted that the raids are taking place in connection with the current situation in the country’s energy system. Chairman of the Board of the National Energy Holding Talaibek Baigaziev and General Director of National Electric Networks of Kyrgyzstan JSC Altynbek Rysbekov also participate in the raids. They visited the objects of commercial consumers for conducting explanatory work.

As a result of the raids, consumers exceeding the installed permitted capacity were disconnected from the power supply and warned of prevention of a large increase in consumption.

«Due to a sharp change in air temperature in the country, the power system is operating beyond the limits of the existing capacity. This is unacceptable during the heating season and can lead to a huge breakdown. Along with the increase in electricity consumption, the highest rate of water consumption from the Toktogul reservoir was also registered. A further increase in electricity consumption may lead to water drawdown to a dead volume,» the statement says.

The National Energy Holding emphasizes that such raids will be carried out throughout the republic to curb consumption growth. «We apologize for the forced measures to maintain the efficiency of the energy system,» the statement says.
