Energy system of Kyrgyzstan worked at its limit over past 24 hours

Over the past 24 hours, the energy system has exhausted the available generating capacity during peak hours. The National Energy Holding of Kyrgyzstan reported.

It is noted that over the past 24 hours, at low temperature conditions, the energy system of Kyrgyzstan has been operating normally, but at the limit of its capabilities.

The daily consumption of electricity in the republic, with a plan of 60.7 million kilowatt-hours, in fact amounted to 70.9 million kilowatt-hours.

Excessive consumption is estimated at 10.2 million kilowatt-hours. Last year, for the same period, electricity consumption reached 59.7 million kilowatt-hours.

Power engineers once again urge Kyrgyzstanis to take the situation with understanding and save electrical energy.

«In order to avoid emergency situations, please do not use energy-intensive electrical appliances during the evening (from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.) and morning (from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.) maximum loads and use alternative sources of heating (gas, coal),» the statement says.

At the same time, the company noted that power specialists throughout the republic are on duty around the clock at power facilities to ensure uninterrupted supply of heating and electricity and to avoid emergency situations. The heads of energy companies were instructed to intensify work on the reliable operation of electric power equipment and take comprehensive measures to prevent possible restrictions on consumers.
