Exchange offices of the capital and commercial banks buy the American currency for 85.7-86 soms, and sell for 86.7-87 soms. For half a day, it has appreciated by 70 tyiyns — 1 som. Since the beginning of the month, the exchange rate has grown by 1.3 soms. At the same time, Kyrgyzstanis complain about the inability to buy the foreign currency.
A similar situation was registered in early December. Then the National Bank intervened, selling $59.5 million on the foreign exchange market. This helped to stabilize the situation for some time.
