A children’s rehabilitation center was built on the site of the mansion of the fugitive president of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev on Zhibek Zholu Avenue in Bishkek. Kanybek Tumanbaev, head of the Department of Presidential Affairs, announced.
According to him, the construction of the facility has been completed, its opening will take place in the near future.
Kanybek Tumanbaev noted that the rehabilitation center for children with disabilities is designed for 100 places and will be put into operation with all modern conditions.
Two buildings located on the same territory on Zhibek Zholu Avenue were burned down during the April 2010 events. The dilapidated buildings were empty for a long time. Then disabled people settled there. After the revolution, they turned to the interim government with a request to officially transfer the mansion to them. However, no positive response was received. Later, the house of the fugitive head of state turned into a home for the homeless.
