Teacher at school No. 33 in Bishkek diagnosed with tuberculosis

A teacher at school No. 33 in Bishkek was diagnosed with tuberculosis. Press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.

According to the City Tuberculosis Control Center of Bishkek, the patient was detected during a preventive examination. She turned to the branch of the Family Medicine Center No. 1 on November 14, where she was sent for sputum microscopy. On November 15, she was registered with a phthisiatrician with a diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis (treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis).

«The Center for Disease Prevention and State Sanitary Epidemiological Surveillance of Bishkek conducted an epidemiological investigation. It was noted that the teacher was hired without a medical examination (there is no chest x-ray results). Disinfection has been carried out at the school, medical examination of contact children (163 children) is now being carried out, Mantoux test is being performed, schoolchildren are taking general blood and urine tests,» the Ministry of Health reported.
