Kyrgyzstan gets right to supply goods to UK market duty free

Kyrgyzstan has been included in the new Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS). Fabian Hartwell, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Trade Policy Adviser, announced at a press conference on Monday.

According to him, the scheme provides for the reduction of tariffs and simplification of trade conditions for 65 countries of the world. It will enter into force in 2023. Under the DCTS, Kyrgyzstan is eligible for extended preferences and will continue to benefit from duty-free export.

«For Kyrgyzstan, almost all exported goods are eligible for duty-free access to the UK market. We met with business representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic. They showed great enthusiasm. The republic has potential in the supply of dried fruits, nuts and honey,» Fabian Hartwell said.
