Residential areas in Kyrgyzstan names of which are borrowed from other languages should be renamed. Speaker of the Parliament Nurlanbek Shakiev stated at the first meeting of the People’s Kurultai.
According to the Speaker of the Parliament, development of the state language has not reached its goal.
«We still have some settlements with names taken from other languages. We urgently need to rename four districts in Bishkek,» Nurlanbek Shakiev said.
Deputies of the Parliament have already raised the issue of renaming the districts of the capital. Parliament deputy Aibek Altynbekov proposed giving Kyrgyz names to four districts in Bishkek.
