Akylbek Japarov to head Russian-Kyrgyz Cooperation Commission

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov decided to personally head the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Russian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation. Press service of the Cabinet reported.

This is necessary to accelerate implementation of the agreements reached, including at the highest and high levels. Co-chairs of the Commission Akylbek Japarov and the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexei Overchuk met on Wednesday.

The head of the Cabinet noted that Kyrgyzstan was interested in further building up trade and economic relations with Russia, attracting investments, and increasing bilateral trade. Akylbek Japarov paid special attention to the implementation of a large joint project for the construction of secondary schools in nine settlements of the republic with Russian as the language of instruction, as well as on the migration agenda.

He noted the need to take joint measures, including within the framework of the EAEU, to create the most comfortable conditions for the stay of citizens of Kyrgyzstan in the Russian Federation.

In turn, Alexei Overchuk emphasized that the two countries are strategic partners and allies in Central Asia, and their cooperation has a multifaceted vector and is characterized by a focus on the development of Eurasian integration processes.

«Bilateral relations between the two fraternal countries are based on a long history, mutual respect and trust,» the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia concluded.
